The holidays are almost here and with that comes the hustle and bustle of buying the perfect gifts for our loved ones. This past year has been a rollercoaster ride for all, however the impact that the pandemic had on small businesses is undeniable. With that in mind, we started our search for gifts this season and came up with some major options that will not only get your checklists ticked, but keep the holiday love local. Check them out below!

For the Makeup Enthusiast

If you get your lashes done in Montreal, chances are you heard of, or visited, Izzi-X. The girl behind the brand, Ms. Amanda Izzi has worked in the beauty industry for over a decade and this bombshell beauty is the definition of Montrealer. For the last several years, Izzi-X made its mark by offering permanent eyelash extension services to its clients in-house; but as the digital world evolves, so has this beauty mogul and her brand.

Izzi-X has shifted to the online world to offer a premium lash strip alternative to permanent extensions. With the launch of their first lash style, the Mink 5D “ Izz-A-Vibe” Strip, you can have the Izzi-X lash experience all from the comfort of your own home.

For the Foodie with a Sweet Tooth

It’s not often that the word cake, or dessert, comes up in the mouths of Montrealer’s, and Les Délices Lafrenaie does not follow shortly after. With several locations across the city, this family owned business has graced us with their delicious food and desserts for more than 40 years.

In 2017, they opened their fifth location on the historic Westminster street in Montreal-Ouest. This very special brick and mortar is owned and run by the amazing mom and daughter duo that is Jenn Ruvo and Josie Spano. Their sweet little shop boasts some of the city’s best desserts, homecooked food, and is the definition of living and loving local. During the holiday season, these amazing women transform their shop into a Christmas haven of Panettone’s, gift baskets, and custom holiday treats.

As we all get cozy at home, nothing says Happy Holidays like a custom dessert or a basket full of delicious goodies, which makes Lafrenaie Montreal-Ouest a go-to in our books for gift giving. While you’re there, don’t forget to enjoy one (or a few) sweet treats for yourself; Because as their shop wall says, “enjoy life, eat cake”.

For The Self-Care Guru

Now more than ever, we need to be mindful of where we put our energy. The phrase "Good Vibes Only" has made its way from a simple hashtag, to a way of life - and nothing says good vibes like rest, relaxation, and self-care. Samantha With Love was started with that exact mantra in mind.

The owner of Samantha with love, Samantha Regimbal, knows the importance of self-love, and she wants to share it all with you. For years, Samantha and her sisters suffered from extreme skin conditions and it led them on the hunt for products that not only fulfilled a healthy skincare regime, but also a desire to look and feel their best.

Unsatisfied with what was on the market, they started creating their own body butters that smelled like roses and sweet vanilla. They're “Don’t be so Sensitive” product line catapulted this small company into a full out business venture that now includes collections consisting of body butters, face creams, lip butters, lip scrubs, and soy candles made with soothing fragrances and raw ingredients for sensitive skin. Oh and did we mention, all their products are designed and handcrafted in the beautiful Montreal!

Give the gift of good vibes and self-love this holiday season by visiting their website and buying one, or many, of Samantha With Love's all natural products.
